As senior public relations specialist for ARTISTRY, the prestige beauty brand of direct-selling giant Amway Corporation, Katie Blough creates, promotes and coordinates beauty PR materials for affiliate markets around the globe. Currently, the Amway business model and its products are available in more than 100 countries and territories worldwide.

 

Blough joined Amway in 2007 as a contract employee, working on internal communications in Human Resources.  Her first brush with the ARTISTRY brand came when she joined Amway’s North American PR team in 2009.  As the official sponsor of the Miss America pageant, ARTISTRY sent Blough to be the “on the ground” PR reporter for their social media efforts.

 

Blough’s PR roles and responsibilities shifted as she progressed quickly through the company.  In 2010, she moved back to Corporate PR where she investigated opportunities for Amway to become more involved in the local west Michigan community. Memorable highlights included Amway’s sponsorship of July 4th fireworks in downtown Grand Rapids and the “My GR6” campaign, a community-wide competition that challenged locals to describe their passion for the community in six words.

 

In her current role, Blough helps maintain ARTISTRY’s relationships amongst Hollywood’s elite – including ARTISTRY Global Makeup Artist, Rick DiCecca, and ARTISTRY Global Face, Australian actress Teresa Palmer. In addition, Blough develops written assets for Amway’s global affiliates to be published with some of the industry’s top beauty media.

 

A west Michigan native, Blough received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Hope College and went on to receive her Master of Science degree in Communication from Grand Valley State University.  In her spare time, she’s a die-hard Tiger baseball fan and is a self-professed Grand Rapids foodie.
